INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY @ AITS, Tirupati
International women’s day was celebrated at AITS, Tirupati here on Thursday. Professor Vasanta Kavitha, IIM-Banglore, who is the granddaughter of first C.M. of Karnataka, was the chief guest of the event.
In her key note address, she emphasised the significance of women empowerment and appreciated achievements and strength of modern women. Now days women can do anything if they committed. She also said that women play a pivotal role in social development.
Another guest of honour, Professor B. Anuradha, HOD, department of ECE, S.V.University enthralled the gathering with her speech. She emphasised women should develop leadership qualities since their childhood. She also suggested girl students to utilise the government schemes and scholarship for their further education.
Chairman, C. Gangi Reddy suggested that students should follow great women as role models.
Principal C. Nadhamuni Reddy, advised that it is everybody responsibility to bring awareness on women rights and acts for rural background people.
