Workshop on PCB Design

The Department of ECE organized a two-day workshop on PCB Design in collaboration with Datapoint Info Solutions, Hyderabad. The sessions were led by Mr. S. Hemanth Kumar (Team Lead, Embedded Systems) and Mr. K. Anil Kumar (Design Engineer) along with their technical team.

Workshop Highlights

  • PCB Design Fundamentals: Basics of components, layers, and schematic design.
  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on training using Proteus (ISIS & ARES) tools.
  • Manufacturing Insights: Understanding PCB fabrication, materials, and DFM principles.
  • Practical Skills: Soldering, prototyping, and design verification.

Day 1 (06-11-2024): Design Concepts & Software Training

Participants explored schematic design, layout techniques, and simulation using Proteus software. They gained practical exposure in creating and testing basic circuit designs under expert guidance.

Day 2 (07-11-2024): Fabrication & Testing

Students learned about PCB fabrication processes, design rule checks, Gerber file generation, and prototype testing. The hands-on session emphasized manufacturability, troubleshooting, and performance validation.

The workshop strengthened students’ understanding of modern PCB design practices, improved their hands-on technical skills, and encouraged innovation and teamwork. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. N. Pushpalatha, HoD (ECE), who appreciated the participants, faculty, and resource persons for their contributions.
