International Women’s Day Celebrations – 2025

On March 8, 2025, AITS, Tirupati celebrated International Women’s Day, hosted by the Women Empowerment Cell. The event commenced with a serene Saraswati Vandana, setting a spiritual tone by Dr K Ramya IQAC Coordinator followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Dr. Bijily Balakrishnan, signifying the arrival of knowledge and wisdom.

Key Highlights:

  • Principal Dr. C. Nadhamuni Reddy delivered a speech on women’s empowerment, discussing the “Glass Ceiling” and historical roots of International Women’s Day. He also highlighted key government schemes like PMMBY, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana aimed at women’s welfare and financial security. He concluded by encouraging students to leverage their peak hours for personal and professional growth.
  • Dr. C. Gangi Reddy (Chairman) spoke about the significance of Women’s Day and emphasized the need for stronger laws against crimes targeting women, citing the achievements of inspiring women like astronaut Sunitha Williams.
  • Mr. C. Yealla Reddy (Vice Chairman) motivated students by highlighting women’s progress, from homemakers to holding powerful positions like the President of India, encouraging young girls to aim high.
  • Dr. Bijily Balakrishnan addressed the topic of privilege and perspective, urging people to recognize the struggles of marginalized groups and foster empathy.

The event also featured performances, including a stunning welcome dance by Eekshitha, and recognized the winners of the Girls Got Talent competition. The ceremony concluded with a warm felicitation of the Chief Guest.
