Strength of Materials Lab

Strength of Materials Lab are essential for engineers and materials scientists, as they play a crucial role in designing structural elements that can withstand various loads and forces while ensuring safety and durability. This laboratory provides students with hands-on experience in studying the mechanical properties of various materials. The primary focus is on understanding the materials respond to different types of forces, stresses, and strains, and their behaviour under various loading conditions. Through the experiments, students learn how to analyze and interpret data, as well as how to calculate material properties, such as Young’s Modulus, Modulus of Rigidity, Impact strength, Stiffness of Springs, Beam reaction, Poisson’s ratio, compressive strength and tensile strength. Additionally, the lab serves as a foundation for further research and development in engineering among faculty.
