Civil Engineering (CE)
The Civil Engineering Department is one of the lead departments in the institute and was established in 2009. The initial journey was started with a U.G. Program (B. Tech in Civil Engineering). Later, the department started a P.G. Program (M. Tech in Structural Engineering) in the year 2013. With the eminent faculty and well acquainted facilities, extensive research work is going on in the various disciplines of Civil Engineering.

Program Outcomes
Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

Courses Outcomes
Dr. J. Guru Jawahar is Professor and HOD in the department of Civil Engineering. He did his B.Tech in S.V. University, Tirupati. He did his M.Tech and Ph.D in Structural Engineering in JNTUA, Anantapuramu. He has 12 years of Industry experience and 12 years of teaching experience. His areas of interest are Self compacting concrete, Geopolymner concrete and advanced construction materials. He is eligible Research Supervisor and guiding six Ph.D scholars, out of which two scholars got awarded. He is acting as Doctoral Committee Member for Centre of Research in Anna University. He has nearly sixty nine qualified publications.

The Department of Civil Engineering at Annamacharya Institute of Technology & Sciences, Tirupati, conducted sports on June 15, 2022, for third and fourth-year students (both girls and boys).
Transportation engineering, as practiced by civil engineers, primarily involves planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of transportation facilities. The facilities support air, highway, railroad, pipeline, water, and even space transportation.
This course will help students know which tests are appropriate for given environmental problems, statistically interpret laboratorial results and write technical reports, and apply the laboratorial results to problem identification, quantification, and basic environmental design and technical solutions.
To determine the Index and Engineering properties of soil like specific gravity, water content, shrinkage limit, plastic limit, permeability, consolidation, shear strength tests etc.
The Concrete Technology Laboratory offers facilities for conducting quality control tests on cement, aggregates, and both fresh and hardened concrete. Students are instructed in standard testing procedures in accordance with the relevant IS codes to assess the quality of concrete materials.
The aim of engineering geology lab is to identify and understand various properties of minerals and their behaviour against the natural processes.
The objective of surveying laboratory is to make students familiar and competent enough to draw maps on a suitable scale by using different surveying instruments like total station, theodolite, auto level, global positioning system (GPS), plane table, compass, etc.
The Fluid Mechanics laboratory is designed to examine the properties of fluids and to conduct experiments involving both incompressible and compressible flow. Facilities are available for investigating the fundamentals of fluid statics as well as kinematics and kinetics of fluid flow to enhance the hands-on experience of our students.
Strength of Materials Lab are essential for engineers and materials scientists, as they play a crucial role in designing structural elements that can withstand various loads and forces while ensuring safety and durability. This laboratory provides students with hands-on experience in studying the mechanical properties of various materials.
